COLD WATER

A New Series by Andrea Mongenie

In this new body of work, Andrea invites us into a world where water is both subject and metaphor, a place of immersion, of reflection, of refuge. Rooted in her personal  life stretched between Ireland, England, and France, these paintings echo the pulse of the sea that links these shores.

Each canvas is a pause. A breath. A moment of stillness in a restless world. There is slowness here, a deliberate invitation to look, and look again. To feel.

This series is not just about water, but about time. The time we give ourselves to stop. To float. To witness. Cold water swimming, a quiet act of courage and joy, becomes a thread woven through the collection, its sharp clarity, its bracing honesty.

Through colour, texture, and rhythm, Andrea paints the contradictions of life, movement and stillness, longing for comfort and calm.
